The following tips will explain about keeping the iPhone’s battery long life, since the amount of power required by the iPhone is not as constant as a CD player. For example, playing a game requires more battery power than listening to music. The battery has fixed capacity, but the amount of time the battery lasts varies depending on the usage. Many users have posted comments on blogs and Websites complaining that the estimate of iPhone battery life from the vendor is not like what they said. This tips may help you get more life out of your iPhone’s battery.
- Turn off any features you do not need for a while, like Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth connection, the screen display, location services, and push e-mail.
- Set the brightness display screen to lower level, this will keep the battery long life as well.
- Lock your phone when you’re not using it so that you don’t keep accidentally turning on the screen.
- Avoid any activities that need much power consumption such as play a game which need high graphic resolution, play videos or musics. You may avoid them when your battery has a low power, but you have to make a calls or receive a calls, then i think it will be good if you avoid them. Also, do not leave your iPhone connected through other devices which was turned off, it may drain the battery.
Avoid moving around multiple screens by placing the launch icon for your most-used applications in the main home screen, so that you won’t to flipping multiple screens to find the application you need. Avoid to checking many email account.
- Keep your battery connected to its power whenever you can, at least you need to charge the iPhone at once a day even you have not used it very much that day. If you are mobile and moving around in a day, you can bring a portable charger.
- Poor signal reception may drain your battery, since the Cell phone will periodically send a signal to the closest transmition towers to make sure a connection is available. If you are in the weak coverage area, your iPhone will start pinging everytime, all this activity can drain your battery faster. If you are in an area with poor 3G coverage, you might turn 3G off, and switch it to 2G connection for your calls.
- Turn off the iPhone if you don’t want to receive or make a call for a while. You may found this situation when you are going to watching a movie or concert, have a weekend date, etc.

This information is incorrect in that you should not leave your iPhone plugged in all the time to keep battery life going. Charge it up and let it go down before recharging. This is according to Apple Genius bar. The part about draining the battery by playing games is too true (for me–Cows in Space e.g.)
