I have verizon and the tech guy from somewhere else set up my connection settings for me with whatever it is they had me install. How can I manage my own wireless settings? When I go into control panel and network connections I can’t change anything on my router. Do I need to be physically plugged into it? Where do I go from there? And how do I view others who are sharing my connection? (I don’t care, but can they see me or get into my computer?)

You need to read your router manual. This is all done thru the router interface page. If you dont have the manual, download it from the mfgs site. Yes you may have to be directly connected to your router with a cat5 cable if someone set it up that way in the router settings.
Wow! Thank you! I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?
