Ask: What has the biggest effect on internet speed- the router or the modem?

I have high speed internet through our local cable company and was just wondering how to make our internet even that much faster. Also I know there are different types of routers yielding different speeds- b,g, n- but are there different speeds of modems as well?

      Routers have standard speeds. If you want to increase your speed you can put an amp on the cable line. The cable company frowns on it because it sucks from your neighbors bandwidth. I complained enough till they did it though.
