So, If I want to take the HD (hard disk) from my current computer, and put it in another computer, will it be the same???
Well. They are both XP, its just one just got a new motherboard... Mabe I can transfer only the files I need over? Good Idea?

It depends what you’re trying to achieve. (I assume you’re asking if Windows itself will load etc).
That also depends on how different the two machines are. If they’re identical, then the answer will probably be yes, it will work.
If the machines are similar, it may or may not work as you will have drivers installed for #1 machine, not #2 machine. It might work, but it might not.
If the machines are vastly different, you’d be lucky if it worked. The answer there is probably no, it won’t.
Saying that, if you wanted to just use the drive in another machine & format it & re-install Windows, then yes, you could do that.

To copy your files over though, you could Slave the drive to the other machine & transfer the files off in that way, so, Yes! That would work if you want to go down that route!
