gps track position
If your Blackberry device is associated with an email account that uses a Blackberry Enterprise Server, your administrator might be able to track the location of your device. But you can prevent it by setting off your GPS services as the following steps:
- In the device options, click Advanced Options.
- Click GPS.
- Change the GPS services field to Location Off.
- Press the Menu Key.
- Click Save.
Well, you have setting off your location from anybody who want to track your position. Hope it can help.

I’m having a hard time deciding whether or not this is a 4 or 5 star item. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and rated it 5.
I got this GPS for my dad for christmas, and I’m happy to say that this unit has worked great since christmas. It worked so well, in fact, that a visiting friend decided to get the same model as the one currently in use.
I’ve used this unit quite a bit and I can tell you that it really delivers on the navigation. This unit shines in a lot of ways: Satelite aquisition is fairly quick (quickest aquisition has been a few seconds. Typical is about 5 minutes or less), directions are great, and the Text To Speech feature works nearly flawlessly (it misprounces some street names). It’s quite easy to drive without looking at the GPS help.
Additionally, there are a lot of neat features that come with the GPS as well, including an spedometer, odometer, travel time vs stopped time, various points of interest (including restaurants, gas, hotels, etc, etc) and the distance to those, and way more.
Probably the nicest extra is the traffic meter, but that’s never quite worked right for me, and as I understand it, it really only works for certain areas as well (so, your millage may vary here).
As for why I decided on this GPS unit, I had heard that Text to Speech was a very useful feature (this would be akin to “in 200 feet turn right at Rose St” rather than “in 200 feet turn right”), so that put me in the new models, and I wanted to make sure I had a wide screen version as when you do need to look at the screen, it helps provide a context for the area. The real battle for me came down to the 255w vs the 265wt, and I would say both are very useful GPS units. I’d probably recommend the 255 over the 265 unless traffic is a really important feature to you, but if the 255 is sold out (like it was in my case), then the 265 is also definately viable.
Your posts inspire me to be the best I can be. thanks for the helpful info. I’ll definately be implementing this soon.
Man, the world needs more authors like you. People who tell it like it is. Thanks
Hello Guru, what entice you to post an article. This article was extremely interesting, especially since I was searching for thoughts on this subject last Thursday.
