Upgrade to Windows 7

If you have got stucked in order to upgrade your old Windows XP to Windows 7 operating system, then i will suggest you to read this tips about how to upgrade windows xp to windows 7 operating system. They are several methods :

1. You can do it by uninstalling your old Windows XP, but this method is not recommended as  you will losing your data files.

2. You can firstly upgrade your Windows XP to Windows Vista, then you can continue to  upgrade it to Windows 7. This method will require very long time to apply, then i would not  recommend it.

3. You can use Windows Easy Transfer. It can help you to transfer alll data files in your  old system to Windows 7 operating system. However it cannot transfer any application/program  , so that you will need to re-install after the upgrade process of Windows 7. You can find  the detail about how to use Windows Easy Transfer in order to upgrade from WIndows XP to  Windows 7 as the following steps.

- Download the Windows 7 RTM DVD ISO to your computer. Burn it to DVD.

- Activate your computer with WIndows X and close the Windows 7 installation if it appear.

- Click Start->All Programs->Accessories->Windows Explorer.

- Go to File Folder WIndows 7 installation-> Open folder SupportMigwiz-> click on  migsetup.exe

- The Windows Easy Transfer will open a new window. Click Next to process

- The next step, choose An external hard disk or USB flash drive

- Then click on This is my old computer, then wait for the Windows Easy Transfer to scan  your drive.

- After finished the scanning process, you can select which file or folder you want to  transfer, and click Next.

- Then you will require to create a password to protect your files, and then click Save.

- Browse to the external location on the network or on the removable media to save the File Easy Transfer, then click Save.

- When your file and folder have been saved, click Next to continue

- Click Next->Close to quit from Windows Easy Transfer

- Now go to your Windows 7 DVD folder and start the installation process by click on Setup.exe file, then Select Install Now.

- Choose Go Online to get the latest updates

- Finish the Agreement step by click I accept the License Terms, then click Next.

- Choose Custom (advanced) to continue to next process

- Select the partition to install Windows 7 to move the Windows installation to the Windows.old folder dan replacing the OS with Windows 7, then click Partition which where the  Windows located. Make sure you have selected the partition in the old windows system, not  in a new space. It will avoid to get dual-boot system on your OS.

- Click Next->OK to continue installation.

- Once the installation has been completed, login to the Windows 7 and plug your USB flash  drive which have Windows Easy Transfer inside.

- Click Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools-> then click Windows Easy Transfer

- Windows Easy Transfer will open, click Next to continue

- Select An external hard disk or USB flash drive in the next step, click This is my new  computer

- Select Yes to confirm.

- Now it’s going to the location which where you save the Windows Easy Transfer, select file and Open.

- Select a file you want it to move to Windows 7 and then click Transfer

- Once the transfer process has been complete, then close the Easy Transfer window

- Done

After completing the upgrade process from Windows XP to WIndows 7, you can delete the

Windows.old folder and its file inside. To remove those folder just following this steps :

1. Click Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Cleanup

2. Select Clean up system files

3. Select option Previous Windows Installation(s) to remove the file/folder.

4. Click OK->Delete Files

5. Done.
