Does the phone then receive the text messages that were sent to the phone while it was disconnected? Its a Telus phone if that makes a difference.

Messages sent to a disconnected phone are deemed to be ‘undeliverable’ because the number they were sent to was inactive. They will not be received when the phone is re-activated.
