As a Smart Phone device, an iPhone 4G has many features that we can use for any activities such as browsing, sending and receiving email, traveling guide using GPS, taking a photos and videos, teleconference by using the video calls, read an ebook using its built-in reader, and many others.
Talking about sending and receiving email, the iPhone 4G also has availability to create a mail folder inside, however many peoples do not know about that. The Apple iPhone 4G will automatically synchronize the settings and any information from the mail server ex. IMAP client mail server to the iPhone 4G by using Push Mail feature, that will prevent the hassle of adding folder on the device manually. Once these folder is created, the iPhone will synchronize with the Mail server and add the folder to the mobile phone device. However, new folders cannot be added to the iPhone 4G if the email client is a POP3 email account. So that we need to resolve it by create a Mail Folder through the iPhone 4G device. We will use a Gmail as our email account, please follow the steps :

First we need to create a folder to the iPhone device.

  1. Click the “Mail” icon on your dock, or open your “Applications” folder in Finder and double-click the “Mail” icon.
  2. Right-click to the existing folder and click a “New Mailbox” from the pop-up menu
  3. Click the drop-down bar next to “Location” and select MobileMe. Click the name field, and type in a name for the folder.
  4. Click “OK” to save the folder and close the window.

The Second, we will create a Folder for Gmail

  1. Open your Internet browser, and click the URL field. Type in “Gmail.com” and press the “Return” key on your keyboard.
  2. Type in your user name and password, and click the “Sign In” button.
  3. Click the “Settings” link in the upper-right corner of the browser window, and click the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” link.
  4. Check the box next to “Enable IMAP” and click the “Save Changes” button
  5. Click the “Labels” link, and click the “Create a new label” box. Type in the name of the new folder, and click the “Create” button.
