Befor setting up process, you have to make sure that you have prepare the following tools :
HDMI cable, VGA cable, Composite cable, Coaxial cable, VGA-to-composite adapter, VAG-to-coaxial adapter.
Let’s get start the setup process.
- If your laptop features an HDMI output and your television has an HDMI input, use an HDMI cable to connect.
- Plug the HDMI cable into the laptop’s HDMI output.
- Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the TV’s HDMI input.
- Plug the laptop’s headphone jack into a separate sound system to play audio from a device other than the laptop’s speakers.
Connecting with VGA
- If your television has a VGA input and your laptop has a VGA output, use a VGA cable to connect.
- Plug the VGA cable into the laptop’s VGA output.
- Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the TV’s VGA input.
- Connect the laptop headphone jack to a separate sound system to play audio from somewhere other than the laptop’s speakers.
Connecting using Composite
- If your TV has composite inputs, you’ll need to purchase a VGA-to-composite adapter. Most electronics retailers sell this type of device.
- Plug a composite video cable into the composite port of the adapter.
- Plug a VGA cable into the VGA port of the adapter.
- Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the laptop’s VGA output.
- Plug the other end of the composite video cable into your TV’s composite video input.
- Connect the laptop headphone jack to a separate sound system to play audio from somewhere other than the laptop’s speakers.
Connecting Using Coaxial
- If your TV features a coaxial input, you’ll need to purchase a VGA-to-coaxial adapter. Most electronics retailers carry this type of device.
- Plug a coaxial cable into the coaxial port of the adapter.
- Plug a VGA cable into the VGA port of the adapter.
- Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the laptop’s VGA output.
- Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into your TV’s coaxial input.
- Connect the laptop headphone jack to a separate sound system to play audio from somewhere other than the laptop’s speakers.
Please note, Playing Blu-ray DVDs on a display other than an HDTV will result in a decrease in video quality.
Also please note that the Sony Vaio TT and AW laptops feature Blu-ray recordable drives, which let you burn data to high-capacity Blu-ray Discs; the other four laptops here feature optical drives that can read Blu-ray Discs while having the ability to write to DVD and CD formats.
